The @RichKidsOfInstagram, my boys are not, but last November I was lucky to stay in two luxury-laden Four Seasons properties in Bali.
My trip was part of a big adventure across Indonesia, where I got to experience some of the countries hottest new travel destinations and stay in some fantastic hotels and resorts.
I put together a summary for Kidspot – take a read click here.
Before this trip, I had only visited one other Four Seasons resort. It was the Four Seasons in Orlando, and it was a level-up on any other that we had stayed in. The access to Disney character breakfasts was one thing, but what stood out the most was the quality of the kids club.
To give you an example: The children’s play areas overlooked one of the swimming pools so that kids were just far enough to be seen but not heard… meals were available for lunch and dinner in the club, and I’m not talking chicken nuggets and chips… the inside kids play areas were generous in size and filled with both educational and quiet time activities that included a giant volcano slippery slide… and the cabanas by the waterpark offered sunscreen – just in case you’d forgotten to throw it into the bag.
It was great to see the level of detail, quality and care that is available at this level of resort. I could have happily left our boys there for all four seasons knowing that they were happy and wouldn’t miss me for a minute!
Fast forward to late last year, and I had the same feeling after staying at the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay and Sayan, Ubudi.
Both Bali based resorts were equally stunning with each offering a different experience for kids. I recommend you book a visit to both – if the budget allows it.
FOUR SEASONS JIMBARAN BAY
It’s not every day that you come across a kids club with its own plunge pool. Yep, while you’re next door lapping up the longest infinity pool in Indonesia and splashing down the cocktails, your kids are happily playing right next door. Who needs an outdoor playground when you’ve got a pool!
The same goes for dinner. Parents can enjoy a quiet meal at the resorts signature restaurant, Sundara Bali and collect the kids on the way out from the club – it’s conveniently located right next door.
Kids are also well catered for at the resorts main restaurant and buffet. There were plenty of fresh food options and these fully-kitted out high chairs were a great sign that little ones are very welcome in this high end resort.
When it’s family time, the kid friendly pool along with beach club is where you’ll love hanging out.
With sports and play equipment provided, you will not want for anything.
FOUR SEASONS SAYAN, UBUD
This is the resort of choice for ex-USA President Obama and family and it’s easy to see why.
Children aged seven (7) and up can spend their days in white-water rafting at the resorts stream.
Training to be mini-gourmands in their dedicated and brand-new cooking school. Choose from smoothies; chocolate dipped strawberries and more.
Choosing which resort pool they’d like to swim in. Infinity, villa, or from one of the outdoor plunge pools labelled – hot, warm and cold. Goldilocks and the three bears have nothing on this place.
Families who love nature and wellness will feel right at home here. The kids programming also includes daily yoga, spa-treatments, fish feeding, rice field adventures, herbal garden walks, Balinese dance lessons.
Also on the program is craft – including stone and clay pot painting and Balinese offering making.
The kids club (which also comes with its own tree-house!) is open from 9 am – 6 pm, with its indoor and outdoor adventures available to children aged 4 and up. Younger kids can still participate but do require a parent, guardian or babysitter to be present.
AND WHAT CAN YOU GET UP TO WHILE THE KIDS ARE IN THE CLUBS…
How does a day-time sacred nap sound? The Four Seasons Sayan will rock your world as you gently sway to sleep in a hammock overlooking the rice fields.
What about anti-gravity aerial yoga?
Or you could just hang out in your villa’s own splash pool…
If you’re looking for a memorable family holiday and want to go somewhere you can genuinely be pampered from morning until night, give these hotels a try!
