This week Warner Bros. Movie World announced that a ride of epic proportions would be coming to the iconic Gold Coast theme park this October. Which also makes it perfect timing for any families looking for something new to try over the Summer school holidays.
DC Rivals HyperCoaster is said to be the LONGEST, FASTEST and HIGHEST HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere.
Village Roadshow Theme Parks Chief Executive Officer, Clark Kirby said DC Rivals HyperCoaster will be a world-class ride featuring an array of thrills guests can enjoy as a family and will be themed around the hugely popular DC Universe featuring some of the most epic battles and rivalries between iconic DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains.
“Reaching speeds of up to 115km/h, guests will be taken on an exhilarating journey as they experience 4.3G forces and a series of twists and turns along the 1.4km track, almost double the length of any other ride on the Gold Coast,” he said.
“The DC Rivals HyperCoaster will also feature a world-first train design giving selected riders the opportunity to ride backwards as they take on one of the world’s first non-inverted loops.”

TIPS FOR VISITING MOVIE WORLD WITH KIDS
1. Park near the carpark exit. You’ll be grateful for the quick getaway after your day at the park.
2. Bring the kids splash gear. There is a water zone in the kid’s ride area that you won’t want to miss.
3. Don’t miss the character dance parades. Kids can get involved and this is often the best chance to get up-close with your favourite Warner Bros. characters.
4. If you forget your water bottle – don’t worry. Tap water with ice is available at some outlets.
5. For the best view of the main stage and big screen, grab a snack from the bakery and have a seat on the stools that face out to Main Street.
6. If you can go to White Christmas. It truly is magical watching Main Street come alive with the spirit of Christmas – snowflakes included. The Electrical Parade should not be missed and there is often a range of activities that the kids can get involved in. We’ve been the last few years and one highlight was gingerbread decorating. Another year, the boys were selected to turn on the Christmas lights on the main stage. This wasn’t because we were attending as media (no one knew we were coming), they were just lucky enough to be picked!
7. Use the app. Yep, you can pre-order food at select outlets to save yourself a lot of time.
8. Time your snacks with the stunt show. This is a great chance to relax and revive.
9. You will get wet on the log ride – but it’s easy enough to dry off especially if you are visiting during the summer months. Also, make a beeline for the Driving School. This can get very busy as the day goes on and it’s one that you won’t want to miss.
10. I have seen specials for the gift shops being advertised at the front of stores early in the day. Check them out on your way in and use a locker or go back to the car to store any non-perishable goodies.
